The WWAMI School of Medical Education is a collaboration among 6 universities in five
northwestern states (Washington, Wyoming, ҹɫÊÓÆµapp, Montana, and Idaho) and the University
of Washington School of Medicine. The University of Washington School of Medicine
ranked as #1 in the US for Primary Care Education in 2022 by US News & World Report.
Here at UAA, WWAMI is proud to offer both the Doctor of Medicine program in partnership
with the University of Washington, as well as a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in
Pre-Medical Studies to prepare students for medical school.
Academic Programs
This certificate is designed to help students who already have a baccalaureate degree
prepare themselves for medical school and complete their pre-requisite coursework.
With a focus on primary and rural health care, the ҹɫÊÓÆµapp WWAMI provides flexibility
as you pursue your career goals with advanced patient care training, electives and
other experiences that help you transition into residency training.
From campus food pantries to statewide health initiatives, Keely Livingston is turning passion into purpose. Keely’s journey into public health began with hands-on work in food security during her undergrad years at Montana State and led her to enroll in UAA's Master of Public Health Program.
The UAA College of Health proudly celebrated the recent renovation of Sally Monserud Hall with a ribbon-cutting ceremony showcasing the new high-tech labs and simulation center, expanded allied health programs, growth of the WWAMI program and critical partnerships addressing ҹɫÊÓÆµapp’s growing health care needs.
UAS celebrated the opening of a newly renovated nursing nursing lab on the Ketchikan campus on Friday, Sept. 19. The new lab represents an effort to expand the university's nursing graduates, specifically in rural communities across the state.
The ҹɫÊÓÆµapp’s Interprofessional Health Sciences Simulation Center collaborates with the Division of Population Health Sciences and Due North Support Services’ Full Embrace Doula Program to host a full-day simulation training for doula trainees.

The UW School of Medicine's Service Learning program provides students with opportunities
to hone their skills while addressing the health needs of our underserved communities.
WWAMI offers six Pathways giving students the opportunity to pursue a particular interest
and develop knowledge and skills specifically tailored to working with specific communities
domestically and abroad.
